STEM Outreach

The Kummer Institute’s goal is to bring science to life for students and teachers, with an emphasis on reaching communities in Missouri that are underrepresented, underserved and rural.

This goal is achieved through the Kummer Center for STEM Education. The center provides engaging STEM experiences for P–12 students, either on the Missouri S&T campus or at their schools, and through collaborative partnerships between school districts and S&T faculty, staff and students.
On-Campus Experience

The Kummer Center for STEM Education introduces students to the possibilities of STEM with residential and day camps, field trips, panel discussions and career seminars.

Many Missourians learn about STEM thanks to the STEM van and through field trips to the Ozark Field Station, where discoveries are made in a natural outdoor classroom.
